The Mane Event Playset was featured in both the 1988 Toy Fair catalog and the 1988 Package Insert. Some believe that the Mane Event may have been intended to be part of the points/mail order program. There is no evidence to support this, however.
These images are the protomolded prototype Fashion Star Fillies Mane Event Playset that was put together by hand internally at Kenner. It was purchased from an ex employee's estate and sold in 2019 by the Lehmkuhl brothers. Special thanks to them for the use of these photos.
